Olena Moloda — Contemporary Artist and Creator of Moltenism

Olena Moloda is a contemporary Ukrainian artist based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the creator of Moltenism — an original abstract painting technique and artistic concept developed through years of material experimentation.

Moltenism is created on canvas using an artist-developed transparent painting medium. The material flows across the surface and forms translucent layers, glossy areas, fine raised lines, pools of color, and three-dimensional texture. Its changing depth, luminosity and fluid movement can visually recall molten or colored glass, an association that helped inspire the name Moltenism.

The medium combines qualities Olena values in different traditional painting materials: the transparency associated with watercolor, the visual depth and gloss associated with oil, and a relatively fast working and drying process closer to contemporary acrylic media.

Gravity, movement, pressure, layering, and the natural behavior of the material all influence the final image. Olena guides the process, but does not force every detail into a predetermined shape. This controlled unpredictability is an essential part of Moltenism and makes every original work one of a kind.

What Moltenism Is About

Moltenism is built around the idea of transformation. Olena’s work explores what happens when material, color, movement, and pressure interact — when a surface appears to melt, fuse, separate, flow, or become still.

The physical depth of an original Moltenism painting is an important part of the work. A photograph or print can reproduce the image, but it cannot reproduce the actual relief, transparency, gloss, layering, and changing reflections of the original surface.

Her compositions range from calm, refined abstractions to more expressive works, often using layered mineral tones, translucent color, flowing lines, and areas that resemble light passing through colored glass.

Walter Zakarlo — Contemporary Artist

Walter Zakarlo is a contemporary Ukrainian artist based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He works primarily with oil and acrylic painting, creating expressive landscapes, portraits, commissioned artworks, and paintings developed specifically for interiors.

His approach focuses on the feeling of a place or subject rather than on photographic imitation. Color, simplified form, light, movement, and expressive paint handling are used to turn familiar scenes into emotional visual memories.

The Canary Islands are an important source of inspiration in Walter’s work. Recurring subjects include Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Las Canteras Beach, the Atlantic Ocean, surf, palm trees, Calima skies, Maspalomas, island architecture, and everyday coastal life.

Alongside landscape painting, Walter creates portraits and custom works for private clients and interior projects. Size, orientation, palette, and subject can be developed around a particular space while preserving the character of the artwork.
