Portrait Commissions in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
If you are looking for a portrait commission in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Walter Zakarlo creates original paintings from photographs, developing composition, colour and character so the result works as a painting rather than a simple photographic copy.
Portraits can be commissioned through MOLODA ART GALLERY at Calle Cirilo Moreno, 5, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. We also work with clients on other islands and arrange shipping outside the Canary Islands.
An original portrait painted from your photographs
The photograph is a reference, but the aim is not to reproduce every pixel mechanically. Walter studies the face, light, expression, crop and background to transform the reference into a painting with its own presence.
If one photograph does not provide the right composition, several images can be considered. This is useful when you want to preserve an expression from one image, a pose from another or create a composition that does not exist in a single photograph.
How to commission a portrait
- Send the photographs. Clear light and good facial detail provide better information for the painting.
- Indicate the approximate size. If you are unsure, we can recommend a format according to the number of figures and intended location.
- Discuss composition and orientation. The work can be vertical, horizontal or made to suit a particular space.
- Receive a quotation. Price depends mainly on size, technique and compositional complexity.
- The original is painted. The final result is a unique physical work on canvas by Walter Zakarlo.
Portraits for your home and meaningful gifts
An original portrait can become the principal work in a living room, office, bedroom or personal space. It can also be commissioned as a gift made specifically for one person.
If the portrait will hang on a particular wall, send a photograph of the room. We can help determine its proportions, size and placement before fixing the final format.
Oil, acrylic and the final presentation
Walter works mainly in oil and acrylic. The specific technique depends on the project, size and desired effect. We can also advise on the stretcher frame, presentation and a custom floating frame so the painting is ready for its interior.
