Description
Silent Cries of the Ocean depicts birds moving above a vast ocean. The pale textured background evokes the openness and fragility of the marine environment, while the gold birds emphasize the value of the wildlife that depends on it.
The dark flowing contours across the ocean are created with Olena Moloda’s transparent Moltenism painting medium. They symbolize oil spills, plastic waste, and other forms of pollution spreading through the water. The raised lines and layered surface are part of the Moltenism technique; they are not made from molten glass or epoxy resin.
Symbolism and Meaning
The series reflects on the contrast between the beauty of the ocean and the damage caused by human activity. The birds suggest both resilience and vulnerability, while the dark currents introduce a visual sense of disruption.
The work invites viewers to consider the fragility of marine ecosystems and our responsibility toward the environments on which they depend.
